Reggie Bush was born on March 2, 1985, and has been a football star for quite some time. Ever since his early playing days in his hometown of San Diego, California, it was evident that he was going to be a star sooner rather than later. With so much talent, physical ability, and desire it is no wonder that he is emerging into of the best players of all time.
Bush grew up in a suburb of San Diego with both his mother and his father. At an early age they instilled a top notch work ethic in him, and this is what helped to move him from level to level with a lot of success. He attended Helix High School, where he excelled at both football and track and field. In football his team won two sectional championships, and in track he was one of the fastest runners in the entire state at the 100m. In addition to being a great athlete, Bush also got the job done in the classroom with a 3.8 GPA.
After high school Bush accepted a scholarship offer from the University of Southern California. As a freshman in 2003 he proved that he was one of the top recruits in the country. During this season he was named to the Freshman All-American Team thanks to his 1,331 all purpose yards.
Over the next two years of his college career Bush dominated the football field. He picked up several awards along the way, including the Heisman Trophy in 2005.
Bush decided to forgo his final season of college eligibility to enter the 2006 NFL Draft. He was selected second overall by the New Orleans Saints, and shortly thereafter signed a multi-million dollar contract.
During his first year with the Saints he amassed a total of 1,307 yards and eight touchdowns.
